A seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights and Its Importance for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” was successfully conducted by IIC of NCHS on 21st January 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and highlight their significance in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. B. Pharm, Pharm D and M Pharm students attended the session.
The session was led by Dr. Kavitha Chalakkal, Assistant Professor, Inter University Centre for IPR Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), who served as the Resource Person for the event. Dr. Kavitha delivered an insightful and informative lecture covering the fundamental concepts of Intellectual Property Rights, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications.
During the seminar, the resource person emphasized the crucial role of IPR in protecting creative ideas and innovations, enabling innovators and entrepreneurs to secure legal rights over their intellectual assets.
