A workshop on "Strategic Approach to Research Methodology and Scholarly Publishing in Pharmaceutical Sciences" was organized by the Department of Pharmacognosy on 18 July 2026 at 9:30 AM in the NCHS Seminar Hall. The workshop was led by Dr. Balakumar Pitchai, M.Pharm (Pharmacology), Ph.D., Professor and Director, Research Training & Publications – Office of Research & Development, Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology (Deemed to be University), Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology at Taylor's University, Malaysia, and Consulting Editor of Pharmacological Research (Elsevier). M Pharm, 8th semester B Pharm students and faculties were attended the session. During the session, Dr. Balakumar explained the fundamentals of research methodology, including the selection of research problems, study design, data collection, analysis, and ethical research practices. He also discussed effective strategies for writing and publishing high-quality research articles in reputed journals, highlighting the importance of originality, proper manuscript preparation, and the peer-review process. The workshop was highly informative and interactive, providing valuable guidance to students and faculty members on conducting quality research and enhancing their scholarly publication skills. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants clarified their doubts and gained practical insights into pharmaceutical research and scientific publishing.
