A field visit was organized for the Second D. Pharm students on 18th August 2026 to a community pharmacy at Chalakudy. The main objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the day-to-day activities and responsibilities of a community pharmacist. During the visit, students observed the procedures involved in receiving and interpreting prescriptions, dispensing medicines, patient counselling, maintaining records, and proper storage of medicines. They also gained an understanding of the importance of checking dosage, directions for use, expirydates, and appropriate storage conditions. The role of the pharmacist in promoting the safe and rational use of medicines was also explained. The visit helped studentsconnect their theoretical knowledge with practical pharmacy practice and improved their understanding of the responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
