The Department of Pharmacy Practice organized a hospital visit for M.Pharm students at JSS, Mysore on 26th March 2026. The primary objective of this visit was to provide practical exposure to hospital pharmacy operations and enhance students’ understanding of clinical pharmacy services.
During the visit, students were taken to various sections of the hospital, including the inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, and drug information centre. The hospital staff explained the workflow of medication dispensing, prescription screening, inventory management, and patient counselling practices.
Students also observed clinical pharmacists participating in ward rounds, where they contributed to medication therapy management and interacted with healthcare professionals. This experience helped students understand the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in patient care.
The visit was highly informative and provided valuable insights into real-world pharmacy practice. It bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby enriching the learning experience of the students.
