A one-day national seminar was conducted by department of pharmacognosy on Thursday, 7th May 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the NCHS Seminar Hall. The seminar focused on the theme “An Overview on Traditional Leads in Industrial Pharmacognosy”, emphasizing the role of traditional medicinal plants and natural compounds in modern pharmaceutical industries. The session was graced by Dr. Sheela Karalam B, Head of Technical Services at Vaidyaratnam Research Institute, Thrissur, as the keynote speaker. She shared her expertise on integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary research, highlighting case studies of plant-derived compounds successfully utilized in industrial drug development. The discussion also underscored challenges, opportunities, and the future potential of traditional leads in therapeutic innovation.
